Isabella is now able to reach out and spin her musical ball (a gift from abuela & abuelo). She loves music and likes to hear the different sounds it plays.

Celebrating Birthdays

We visited Grandma & Grandpa Newman recently to share in their birthday celebration. They were born only 13 days apart. Happy Birthday. We love you.

Isabella loves to sit straight up in her highchair. She is eating well too. She is quite accomplished in apples and sweet pototoes. We are working on pears now and she may have mastered that too.

My sister and I both had babies last year. How funny it is that we did not plan it that way! I love having a sister and I love having a Mr. Maverick. Here a just a few pictures of my nephew.

Our first trip as a family.

We took our first trip as a family up north last October for my class reunion. Bella was very well behaved on the plane and throughout the trip. We stopped in DC on the way home and were amazed to see Bella watching the waving flags at the monument.

Memories

I only met Pipo once. That's all it took to make him my Pipo too. All he had to do was smile at me. The first few moments with him and Mima were special to me. Mima and Pipo gave me the warmest welcoming. They embraced me into their already big family. Somehow they found the room in their hearts to love another grandchild.

Akmel has so many happy, wonderful memories from his childhood that include his grandfather. There is a love children share with their grandparents that is beyond description. I was so happy to see the love between them.

I am blessed to have known such a remarkable man. My prayers and thoughts are with the Rodriguez Family. Especially Mima, Mami and My Akmel. I love you all.
